The Road to Good News

When Christopher used to pass Good News Ministries on his way to work, he never imagined he’d one day need it to survive.

Though he worked hard, his job barely covered the basics. After Christmas in 2022, work dried up, and he quickly fell behind on bills. Even when he found new work, it wasn’t enough to recover. Eventually, he was evicted.

That’s when he turned to the Good News Men’s Shelter.

Christopher had come to faith in Jesus in 2000, but life moved fast and spiritual growth never took root. At Good News, that changed. With a safe place to sleep, good meals, daily chapel services and encouragement from his counselor, he began deepening his walk with Christ.

Two years later, Christopher is working steadily, spending time with his grandkids and growing in faith. He has plans to move out, but for now Christopher is happy to be at a place where he can find stability and Biblical support.

“It’s a peaceful place,” he shared. “I could’ve stayed with someone, but there would’ve been drinking and getting high. I didn’t want that. Here, I can focus—on God and my grandkids. I truly enjoy being here.”

To those who support Good News Ministries, he has one simple message: “Thank you. God uses it to help change a lot of people’s lives for the better.”
