Faithful Servant
For nine years Maren has used her God-given talents to provide all manner of primary nursing care at the Good News Health Clinic. But it didn’t stop there. She also prayed with patients and shared the love of Jesus Christ. This past week, Maren served her last day as the clinic’s staff nurse.
Maren’s retirement leaves a big hole to fill. Without a staff nurse the clinic must significantly curtail, or suspend, many services. A few include vaccination programs, treatment of acute health problems and dispensing of medicines from our pharmacy. The staff nurse also conducts orientation for all volunteer nurses.
If you, or a nurse you know, might be interested in the position, the job description is available on our Job Opportunities page.
“There are many, many people I’ve gotten to know over the years because they keep coming back,” Maren said. “I consider myself a pretty thankful person but I have said so many times I am more thankful after being here.”
Gratefully, Maren’s service isn’t done. She will continue as a volunteer nurse at the clinic one day each week. A faithful servant, indeed.
