Happy, Healthy, Heaven-bound
Abosede has no job and no health insurance so, whenever she has a free appointment at the Good News Health Clinic, she is especially thankful for the people who care about both her health and her walk with God.
“They are very pleasant and the doctors treat you very well,” Abosede said. “They take care of me very well.”
Five years ago Abosede and her young son fled the political turmoil in their native Nigeria to come to America and start a new life. While they gained safety and freedom in the United States they left behind the medical care that had been available to them in Africa. A friend told Abosede about our free clinic and she set up an appointment.
In her first visit the clinic staff diagnosed her with elevated blood pressure and provided her with medication to bring it down. On that same visit Abosede took several leaflets, including those with Gospel messages. “I read them and they are very encouraging,” she said. “They talk to you about God and I think that helps me.”
During another clinic visit a volunteer doctor counseled Abosede and she rededicated her life to Christ. She’s regularly attending church and growing in her faith.
“God is the one who can do the right thing for us,” she said. Amen!
